Bahati Simoens is a self-taught female artist born in Munanira (Burundi, 1992)
from Belgian and Congolese descent,.
And currently based in Ghent (BE).

Bahati creates vibrant figurative paintings, heavily inspired by her African heritage.
Her work centers around bright colors in combination with black bodies
being celebrated in a world without the white gaze.
Pulling from childhood memories and current events,   
through softness and a warm demeanour.
